Hi! I’m Joelle Smith and I’m 38. I’m single, never been married, and just enjoying life. I live in Bolivar, Missouri which is located in the southwest corner of the state.
I currently teach 1st grade and have been teaching since 2008. Teaching is a job I love and is something that I have considered a passion. My favorite things to teach are reading and writing. I’ve seen about four curriculum changes, three principal changes, five superintendent changes, and my first year students are now in their twenties. I’ve been at this teaching thing a while. Ha!
I enjoy watching baseball. I mean, come on, it’s America’s Pastime! My sister, Kayla, is my best friend and we spend time traveling and watching baseball together. Our latest travel adventures include visiting every MLB ballpark within our lifetime. We were raised on St. Louis Cardinals baseball and you can find us at the ballparks in the summertime.
There are so many other things I love and enjoy besides baseball. Hiking, exploring, fashion, food, music, concerts, books, just having fun. I think I’m an eclectic person so why not share my thoughts, loves, and ideas. I’m not your fit-in-the-box kind of person…I’m a don’t-put-me-in-a-box-or-draw-lines-around-me-because-I’m-sure-to-be-outside kind of gal.
So…why is this girl starting a blog? I wanted to try something new and just share stories about my life as a never been married, enjoying life on a teacher income millennial. Hence the title of my blog: Millennial Life with Joelle.
I want to connect with my friends, make new friends and really I just want to write. Would you like to know a secret? I actually love writing and I want an avenue to do it. I want to share my voice. This blog is for me and for you! Let’s explore life, food, fashion, music, books, places and whatever comes our way! Let’s laugh, cry, feel frustrations and joy with each other! Let’s experience my millennial life together!
